Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Armstead Ford’s musical journey began with a leap of faith—both literal and spiritual. In 2006, he and his family relocated to a quiet farm in Belleville, Illinois, trading city life for the rhythms of nature. But amid the serenity of cultivating the land and raising animals with his wife and two sons, Armstead discovered that his true harvest would be a divine one.After becoming a born-again Christian, Armstead experienced a powerful spiritual awakening. He began receiving melodies through vivid dreams—songs he believes were delivered by God’s heavenly singers. With each dream came a sense of purpose, and a calling he could no longer ignore. Hundreds of sacred tunes flowed through these nighttime visions, and with humility and obedience, he began transcribing them, honoring the divine instruction to bring them to life.Drawing from the soul-stirring sounds of gospel legends like The Soul Stirrers, The Dixie Hummingbirds, and The Blind Boys of Mississippi, Armstead blends timeless quartet harmonies with his own spirit-led sound.
